Year 4's Anglo Saxon Day

15 November 2016

On Tuesday 15th November Year 4 visited Wyre Forest for an Anglo Saxon day. Whilst there the children learned how Anglo Saxons built the walls for their houses out of wattle and daub and then had a go themselves at making a section out of sticks and willow and daubing on mud.

They also cut up some vegetables which were boiled over the camp fire which Anglo Saxons used to dye cloth. Finally they mixed some dough the way Anglo Saxons would have done to make bread and then they tasted it.

An enjoyable and informative day was had by all.
