Year 3 trip to Chedworth Roman Villa

16 October 2017

Year 3 pupils and staff visited Chedworth Roman Villa near Cheltenham. Chedworth was one of the largest Roman villas in Britain and was built in phases from the early 2nd to the 4th century. The remains of the villa were discovered and excavated in 1864 and put on display.

During the visit the children were given a tour around the remains and learned about how the Romans lived. They then looked at some artefacts from Roman times and what they were used for.

Later in the day they made medicine pouches using different seeds and herbs.

The children enjoyed finding out about the Roman life and had a great day.
