World Maths Day

5 March 2008

World Maths Day 2008 took place on Wednesday 5th March. This coincided with a planned 'Maths Focus Day'.

Each year group from Nursery to Year 6 took part in a variety of mathematical based fun activities.

In Years 3 to 6 children also became 'Mathletes'. They took part on-line with over 20,000 other schools around the world, to try and break the World Record for the most maths questions answered correctly in one day. It was really exciting playing against children from Australia, China and the USA. Even some of the teachers got involved. At the end of the day there were over 182 million correct answers!

We are already looking forward to World Maths Day 2009 which takes place on 4th March next year and hope to get Mount Pleasant on the school's leader board.
